US storage water heater sales in August 2017

Residential water storage type water heater

Shipments of residential storage gas water heaters in the United States were 379,212 units in August 2017, a year-on-year increase of 7.6% from shipments of 352,315 units in August 2016.

Shipments of residential storage electric water heaters were 368,948 units in August 2017, a 3.9% increase from shipments of 355,106 units in the same period in August 2016.

Commercial storage water heater

Shipments of commercial storage gas water heaters in August 2017 were 6,720 units, compared with shipments of 8,028 units in the same period in August 2016; a year-on-year decrease of 16.3%.

Shipments of commercial storage electric water heaters in August 2017 were 12,278 units, compared with 10,578 units in August 2016, a year-on-year increase of 16.1%.
